August 2006.

Dear Prayer Partner,

Once again I greet you from the world’s largest democratic nation of India. I thank a handful of you who responded to last month’s e-newsletter promising to pray for the ministry of RLF. Prayer mobilization from more recipients of the newsletter is urgently needed as we press forward in the ministry the Lord has entrusted us with. I take this opportunity to share with you the ministry accomplished during this month.

Visit to the Mission Fields: It was my privilege to visit the new mission field we opened from the beginning of this month. There is a tremendous scope for the ministry in this area as there is practically no outreach work in this region. You can travel for miles in this region and yet you do not find a church. The area is dry spiritually and the people are waiting to for someone to bring the Gospel to them. Please pray for Bro. Joseph and his family who began the work in this area. RLF is very much thankful to a couple who adopted Joseph’s family to pray and support him financially every month. The same couple is already involved in supporting two other of our missionaries. I praise God for the zeal and commitment of this young couple to be involved in reaching the perishing souls in our country.

On 3rd Sunday of this month I was in Rajupalem mission field where the anti-government forces are very active. Due to the constant clash between the police and these forces, due to security reasons, no one is allowed to be outdoors after it gets dark. There were instances of people being shot dead who break this rule. Inspite of these restrictions, the Lord is at work in this mission field through our missionary. He established prayers groups in 6 different villages and on Sundays an average of 20 people meet together for worship out of which 8 people have expressed their desire to be baptized. Our missionary is nurturing these believers and teaching them about baptism. Lord willing we hope to baptize these believers in October if they continue to be strong in their faith. Please pray for these believers and for our missionary.

A Hindu lady who attends our prayer meetings offered the verandah of her house to conduct the worship services on Sundays. We are very much thankful to the Lord for this lady as we did not find any alterative place for this purpose. Her continual participation in our prayer meetings not only gave her the inner peace but also joy in her life. As she experienced the joy and peace through these prayer meetings, she decided to donate the entire compound of her house measuring 15X20 for the construction of a shed for worship services. We are deeply moved by her sensitivity to the needs of the Lord’s work and her willingness to share in the need. If this poor Hindu lady has opened her heart for His work, how much more we should be open for the needs of the ministry? The Lord has blessed many of us financially and materially and yet we are neither sensitive to the needs of the ministry nor are we open to share a small part of our resources with the needs of the ministry. This should challenge each of us to be sensitive to the needs of the ministry and be willing to have a share in His work.

New Mission Field: As shared in the earlier newsletters, there is an urgent need to open another new mission field. The region has been surveyed and the mission station has been identified. A young dedicated couple has committed to work in this mission field through RLF. We are looking for prayer partners who are willing to stand with this missionary with their prayers and monthly financial support of US$100 a month. Please pray seriously about this special and urgent need and commit yourself to support this missionary couple through your prayers and finances. Please feel free to write to us for more details about the mission field and the missionary couple.

Prophecy Meetings: The local churches in Tirupathi, the holy city of Hindus have organized two days of Prophecy Meetings in Tirupathi on 16th and 17th of this month. Nearly 100 people attended the morning Bible studies and about 400 people attended the evening meetings. The Lord used me in a powerful way. I preached on “Signs of the Times” on the first day and "Be Ready for Rapture” on the second day. The response was excellent on both the days as we saw several people coming forward indicating either to accept Jesus as their Lord or to rededicate their lives unto the Lord. We praise God for a total of 142 people who came forward in these meetings. There were 52 commitments on the first day and another 89 people came on the second day. Please pray for these individuals as the local pastors have taken up the responsibility to counseling these individuals.

Future Ministry Programs: Please continue to uphold the following upcoming programs of our ministry in your prayers.

1. Pray for the ministry in pastor’s conference in the Himalayan state of Sikkim in the first week of September. Join with me in praising God for the wonderful provision of finances for this mission trip.

2. Pray for the ministry in Prophecy Meetings to be held in Andhra in the last week of October. Pray for the need of US$500 towards this mission trip.

3. Pray for the pastor’s conference in Nagaland in January 2007 and the need of US$ 2500 towards this mission trip.

Thank you for taking time to read this newsletter. Please continue to uphold us in your regular prayers daily. Hope to hear from you sometime in the near future.

Sincerely in Him,

John Ishmael
